Students are invited to take this class more than once because although the curriculum changes each time, the pace will always stay comfortable so that your experience is effortless and fun. See handouts from previous classes.

Intermediate French
Course Description — Introductory French taught through Total Physical Response®, Story Based Methods and other comprehension based methods. An intermediate French course aimed at the rapid achievement of an intermediate level of proficiency (using the ACTFL scale) through interesting reading, engaging storytelling and personalized discussions. Students can expect to acquire the 100-200 highest frequency words in French in the past tenses, preterite and imperfect, as well as to acquire the present tense through reading.  There is no pressure to speak or perform, but opportunities for conversational French are provided.  Students are able to participate in interviews, brief conversations, to re-tell stories and to suggest plot information as stories are told. This class is popular with tourists, travelers, teachers, health professionals, natural health care practitioners, business professionals and people who took French in high school years ago but can't speak a word today.  Students are invited to take this class more than once because although the curriculum changes each time, the pace will always stay comfortable so that your experience is effortless and fun. Students with previous French exposure are guided through the process of reactivating latent vocabulary. True beginners are guided through the process of beginning language acquisition in a low pressure, low-stress environment..

Advanced Spanish
Course Description — Advanced Fluency Fast Spanish for non-native Spanish teachers is a course that was developed in response to requests from Spanish teachers who wanted to improve their fluency while taking a course taught through Total Physical Response®, Story Based Methods and other comprehension based methods. The class is intended for French teachers who are required to teach Spanish with just a long-ago minor in Spanish or Spanish teachers who are competent teaching levels 1 and 2 in a school setting but lack confidence teaching levels 3, 4 or AP. The course uses precisely the same method that is used in our beginning methods, but the content is different.

Students are invited to take this course more than once. Each year the curriculum changes in anticipation of the class and also changes during the class as the instructor adapts the class to the needs of the students in the class.
