Which Fluency Fast Class should I take? A note on how to tell which class you should take: One of our most frequently asked questions is whether students should take beginning or intermediate. Often, classes are scheduled at the same time so that participants can change classes if they want an easier or more difficult class. If you took Spanish in high school but don’t remember any, have taken a course in another country or have taken community college courses you may have what we call latent Spanish. It’s in there…. but it isn’t activated or useable. Our beginning class will help dislodge it. We aim to teach primarily the present tense so that we can focus our time on high frequency vocabulary. If you cannot yet speak, lack confidence, or feel that your recall is limited to just a handful of words, you will do well in our beginning class. Regardless of who is in the class, we will always tailor the class as we go to the true beginners – those who have no previous exposure to the language. If you feel that you are somewhat proficient at speaking and have retained a little from of previous classes, the intermediate class goes a little faster. While it is still geared to whomever in the class has the least knowledge of the language, it pushes advanced structures in the past tenses. Reading materials are in the past tense. Assumption of a basic knowledge of the present tense is assumed as a prerequisite. Still not sure?
